Every year, pilots from the CAF perform several flyovers for special events and memorial services. I was fortunate to be able to tag along with my camera to shoot these wonderful historic warbirds in their native environment, the sky. The event was the annual Independance Day festivities in Moorpark, California. After takeoff, the airplanes formed into formation. Four passes were flown, each with a different formation setup. The final pass included the missing man, where Ken turned on the smoke and climbed out of the formation and into the west. It was a nice flight. Many many thanks go out to Jason Somes, Chris Rushing, Ken Gotchall and Will Kalbermatter for bringing me along. These guys are all excellent pilots.
