October 1, 2011- Vietnam Moving Wall Flyovers
Santa Barbara, California

The Moving wall is a half sized replica of the Vietnam Memorial in Washington DC. It travels around the country to honor the over 58,000 dead from the war and the 2.8 million who served in Vietnam. It is always an honor for me to pay tribute and homage to my fellow veterans. The flight was lead by Sherman Smoot in the C-47 Skytrain "Betsy's Biscuit Bomber". Mr. Smoot and his co-pilot are both Vietnam vets. Smoot flew F-4s and his co-pilot flew A-7s in Vietnam. Dragon Flight consisted of 3 Nanchang CJs and a Yak. They flew off the wings of the C-47 for the first 2 passes. Viper Flight consisted of 3 T-34 Mentors flying behind the C-47 for the first pass. I rode in the back of Marc Russell's T-34 for the flight. A huge thanks to all pilots involved for a great flight!
