The Short Tucano is a
license-built Embraer EMB-312 Tucano manufactured in Belfast
Northern Ireland. The first production model flew in December
of 1986. The final delivery of 130 aircraft to the RAF was on
January 25, 1993. The Tucano
replaced the Jet Provost for basic flight trainer for the
RAF. It is currently scheduled to fly with the RAF until
2015. There are 14 listed in the US registry of aircraft.
