August 17-18, 2013- Wings Over Camarillo
Ventura County First Responders

The Springs fire in May brought a big brush fire very close to home for Camarillo residents. It started on May 2 and quickly grew to what would burn 24,251 acres while destroying 10 out buildings and damaging 12 other buildings. The low number of buildings destroyed or damaged was testimony to the work of the Ventura County crews. The Ventura County Sheriff's Department helicopter are based at Camarillo Airport. They have fire support equipment on board and gave a demonstration of a water drop during the show. The first responders were recognized and applauded at the show.
