The Consolidated PBY
Catalina was one of the most widely used seaplanes of the
second world war. It served in every branch of the American
military and the military of many allied nations. The PBY
performed multiple missions, including anti-submarine warfare,
patrol bombing, search and rescue and convoy escort. Over
3,300 were built.
