The annual Veteran's
Day Parade on State Street in Santa Barbara was on November 9,
2014. We had a large formation for the parade flyovers this
year. There were 19 aircraft in four flight elements. I flew
in the #5 ship of Alpha flight, consisting of 5 T-34 Mentors.
Bravo flight was right behind us with 3 more T-34 Mentors. One
Yak-52, a C-47 Skytrain and nine Nanchang CJ-6As followed
behind Bravo. This year's formations were some of the best
formation work I have ever seen. It is always a tremendous
honor to be part of these flight to thank our veterans for
their service. Several of the crews on these flight are also
veterans.
