The Point Mugu
Airshow was a great show once again. It has been a few years
since the Blue Angels were at the show and the last time they
were at Point Mugu for a show, the fog set in and grounded
most of the flying displays. This year the skies were very
clear and the weather was hot, but the action in the sky above
the base was great. The Breitling jet team is on their first
tour of America and they put on an impressive show. The CAF
SoCal Wing, based at Camarillo brough out their fighters for
some great flights. Solid aerobatic performances were flown by
Sean D. Tucker and Matt Chapman. The California ANG flew their
C-130 to demonstrate the water drops used for fighting fires.
The Marine Corps flew a nice demo with the UH-1Y Helicopter
and the US Coast Guard flew a demonstration of Search and
Rescue. ATAC flew a couple of their aircraft that they use to
train the Navy aviators with. There were numerous aircraft on
static display. I always enjoy this show.
