The tenth anniversary of
the 9/11 attacks was on Sunday this year. I joined up with Viper Flight
for what started as a single flight up the coast to Santa Barbara.
During lunch, we got a call from a person at the Reagan Presidential
Library to perform a couple of flyovers for their event as well. After
the passes at Santa Barbara, we flew over the Reagan library to get a
sight picture of the area. We debriefed the first flight back at
Camarillo and briefed the next flight. It was a huge honor to be part
of the memorial flights. Flying over the Reagan Presidential Library
had special meaning to me as he was my Commander in Chief when I served
in the USAF. For Viper, our lead, Reagan was the governor of California
when he became a US citizen. Many thanks to Michael "Viper" Maloco
(#1), Darren Moore (#2) and Marc "Big Daddy" Russell (#3) for some
safe, and fun flying. Thanks Marc for letting me be your ballast and
giving me some great placement to get the photos.
