The weather for the
Apple Valley Airshow could not have been better. The skies
were clear after several days earlier in the week of storms.
Rob Harrison and Tim Just flew great aerobatic routines,
thrilling the crowds with their aerobatic maneuvers. The Just
in Time Skydivers jumped in the morning for the National
Anthem and to kick of the afternoon program. Mike Mangold flew
jet aerobatic maneuvers in his Aero L-29 Delfin trainer from
the Cold War. The RC aircraft were fun to watch with some
great flying skills and some creative flying projects. The
Planes of Fame Museum brought the Northrop N9M-B Flying Wing
prototype and several Warbirds. Seeing 2 programs of warbirds
was a great and special treat for the crowds. A nice mix of
vintage and home built aircraft rounded out the static and
flying displays. In this day, when budgets are tight, it's
great to see great family entertainment for a real budget
price. A big thanks to Rob and Susan Harrison for inviting us,
and to the army of volunteers at the Apple Valley Airport who
made it all possible. Great show, everyone!
