Cable Airshow 2011
Memorial Flight
The Ryan PT-22 Recruit led
the flight with three Stearmans for a memorial flight each day. On
Saturday, they honored Nazy Hirani, who flew his P-51 Mustang "Su Su"
for the crowds the last couple of years and was killed last year in a
crash of his Mustang. On Sunday, the memorial flight honored Bill
Blanchard, who was the Airport Planning Director since the 1980s. On
the second pass, the number three aicraft pulled up from the formation
for the missing man. It was a fitting tribute for both men, who will be
missed by all the lives that they touched.
