The Camarillo Airshow was a
bit smaller this year than in previous years, due to gas prices and
another show in Central California on the same weekend. Nevertheless,
it was a great show. I was there both days this year and was glad to
attend both days as a few things changed in the program between the two
days. The weather was warm, but not unbearable with a light breeze that
kept things at a nice temperature both days. The mornings began as they
normally do in Camarillo, with a marine layer of fog. But by late
morning, it had burned off to give nice lighting for photographing the
aircraft that flew throughout the day. Several ultralights flew in the
morning as did home-builts and various other civilian aircraft.
The national anthem featured a banner tug Piper Super Cub towing a
large American Flag. There was a nice blending of civilian and warbird
aircraft that flew, with the grand finale being Bill Reeseman in his
MiG-17 Red Bull Fresco.
The table below lists the aircraft that flew or were on static display
at the show.
