North American B-25J Mitchell (NL9117Z)
This B-25J Mitchell bomber
has been owned privately since 1986 by it's current owner. It was
delivered to the USAAF in either late 1944 or early 1945. It was used
as a fire tanker for a number of years before becoming derelict at
Falcon Field in Mesa Arizona. Today, this Mitchell carries the nose art
and moniker "In the Mood".
This B-25J is owned and
operated privately and has been since 1978. Dubbed "Photo Fanny", it is
often used as a photo platform for movies and photo shoots. It is used
quite often for air-to-air photography for the warbirds at the Planes
of Fame.
