PV-2 Harpoon

The PV-2 is a militarized version of the Lockheed 18 Lodestar. The original version was the PV-1 Ventura. The PV-2 Harpoon was a modification of the PV-1 that gave it longer range. The USAAF also acquired these, designated B-34 and B-37 Lexington. These were used for maritime patrol duties and were used throughout the 1940s. The first US Navy squadrons stationed in the Aleutian Islands and were used to bomb the Japanese home islands. This one is privately owned and operated Dave Hansen and is based in Utah.
