The
Yakovlev Yak-3 was one of the smallest and lightest fighters on WWII
and served the Russian Air Force well during WWII. It was loved by both
the ground crews and pilots for it's toughness its maintainability. The
original Yak-3s were built mostly of plywood, saving aluminum for other
war
industries. This one is a converted Yak-11 with an Allison engine.
