Scaled Composites White Knight II

Scaled Composites unveiled the White Knight II in January of 2008. This is the follow up to White Knight 1, which carried Space Ship one into the upper atmosphere to win the Ansari X-prize. This is the first of the initial order of 2 aircraft for Richard Branson's Virgin Galactic venture. Thos one is called VMS "Eve" named after Richard's mother. The second is called "The Spirit of Steve Fossett". White Knight II will carry Space Ship II to carry passengers into space. The design of the aircraft was done by Burt Rutan.
