This is an F-18 Super
Hornet that is part of the US Marine Corps VFA-122 "Flying Eagles"
based at NAS Lemoore. The unit provides training for aircrews and
maintenance personnel for both the Navy and Marine Corps. The F/A-18
has become the primary fleet defense fighter since the retirement of
the F-14 Tomcat. One F-18 flew a demonstration flight to show the
capabilities of the aircraft. Another F-18C model was on static display
near the CAF.
