May 5, 2007 CAF Camarillo Fight for China Event
Formation of warbirds
The
schedule originally called for the P-40 from the Planes of Fame and the
A6M2 Zero from the CAF Camarillo to fly for the event. It was no
disappointment to have the F6F Hellcat join the formation. As they sat
ready to go out to the runway for takeoff, David Price came in for a
landing in his P-51 Mustang "Cottonmouth". He landed and came right
back around to the warmup area. He taxied into position and once the
flight of three went by, he took off, crank a nice tight left turn and
joined the formation for a pass. So we had a couple of bonuses!
