The Air Force Reserve Jet car is
capable of speeds in excess of 350 miles per hour! The driver will
light up the afterburners of the Westinghouse J-34 engine that will
produce 10,000 horsepower and 6,000 pounds of thrust. As part of the
show, he will race piston engine powered airplanes. The airplanes will
typically look like they are winning as the jet car acclerates rapidly
to the finish.
