Although best known for
their World War II service, the Mustang was flown up into the early
days of the US involvement in Vietnam. The P-51 Mustang was inexpensive
to produce, well built and could withstand battle damage. Many
different versions were created throughout it's service life. Over
15,000 Mustangs were made, and today about 150 are in flyable condition
with another 100+ in non-flyable condition.
