An Afternoon with the Silver Wings I
Wingwalking Page 1

On June 6, 2006, I met up with Hartley Folstad, Margaret Stivers and Jimmie New for some air-to-air photography at the Chino Airport. The weather wasn't looking terribly promising, but we had the visibility and ceiling. We decided to go ahead and do the photo flight and I think we were all glad that we did. Hartley flew with Margi in the Stearman while I climbed into the back of an L-19 Bird Dog with Jimmie New at the controls. We too off an flew in formation. Jimmie flew wingman and kept us tucked in tight to the Stearman, giving me the best possible point to shoot from. There will be more pictures than text in this article as the grace and beauty of Margi's wingwalking routine needs no words.
