Quickie Aircraft

Quickie Aircraft Company was started in 1978 in Mojave. As you can see in the design, it was a Burt Rutan company. There were three models available in a kit form that the buyer had to put together themselves. In most cases that I have seen, it takes considerable time to put one of these together. About 2,000 total Quickies were made, it is unknown how many kits were completely assembled or flown.

Robert LaRue built this Q-200 (N90RL) in about 1985. It was quite something to see on final approach. The common phrase on the ramp at the time was "What the...?". Coupled with the marine layer that diffused visual clarity, it really looked odd.
