The Queen Mary- WWII Service
The
Queen Mary was pressed into service as a transport ship during WWII.
Because of the speed of the ship, it went across unescorted. During the
course of WWII, it transported over 750,000 men and women. It took
troops to Europe and brought back wounded and dead soldiers. It also
transported war brides back to the US.
