OV-1 Mohawk
The Grumman OV-1
Mohawk was a joint Army/Marine Corps project for an
observation and light strike aircraft. The OV-1 entered
service in October of 1959. Because of different requirements
of the different branches of military, the Mohawk had several
variants. 380 were built. The last Mohawk retired from US
service in September of 1996. The Argentine Army still flies a
few of them and there are about a dozen that are flying today
under private ownership or through museums.
