New Standard D-25 Biplane

This rare biplane was built in 1929 and licensed in 1930. The New Standard company built this aircraft to be able to transport passengers for rides during the days of the barnstormers. This may be the last of it's type doing was it was built and designed for. Many of these aircraft were used as pesticide sprayers and were also used during prohibition to transport alcohol across the border with Canada. While built to be sturday and easy to repair, unimproved runways took their toll on a majority of the D-25s. This one has been rebuilt a number of times. It's current owner calls it "Stanley".
