Yakovlev Yak-18T

The Yakovlev is a four seat aircraft built to be fully aerobatic. It was initially introduced in the 1960s as a civilian aircraft. It became the standard primary trainer for Aeroflt pilots. A small number of Yak-18Ts were sold to the Soviet Air Force for liaison and communications aircraft. About 700 aircraft were produced before production stopped in the 1980s and resumed again in 1993 for a few years. This Yak-18T was built in 1993 and features a smoke system. It was my first chance to see one fly.
