The
37th annual Cable Airshow took place of January 7th and 8th, 2012. The
weather was beautiful for an airshow and there were big crowds both
days. Aerobatics by Rob Harrison were a crowd pleaser. Doug Jardine
showed his stuff in his new Sback 342, impressing the crowds with the
performance of his new aircraft. Sammy Mason flew another great
aerobatic performance in the Stearman. Dr. D flew a great show with his
Tumbling T-Cart, showing folks the way aerobatics was before the days
of composites. While not as fast as the newer aircraft, the manuevers
are just as difficult. Clay Lacy flew another stunning show with the
Pilatus PC-6 Porter, showing why the airplane is an important asset to
intelligence agencies. The warbirds and antiques aircraft of several
varieties made for a great weekend of fun and safe entertainment. A
huge thanks to the army of volunteers that make the show go off
smoothly and keep everyone safe. All of the crews of the aircraft and
vehicles did a great job for the first airshow of 2012.
