Boeing B-52 Stratofortress
The
first B-52 flight was in 1954. It entered service with the USAF in
1955. Today, the B-52 is older than the crew that flies it. The B-52,
or BUFF (Big Ugly Fat Fellow), as it is referred to by the crews has
been the backbone of the strategic bomber force for over 50 years! It
has performed well in conflicts since its entry into service and will
remain in service for many years to come.
