The MiG-17 was designed as an improvement on the MiG-15. Although similar in appearance, the MiG-17 is actually larger and the wing sweep in different than the MiG-15. It also features an engine with afterburners. There are currently only about 12 MiG-17s flying in the United States. It is quite something to see and for an early jet, is surprisingly quiet.
