The Yak-55M was designed
for unlimited competition aerobatics. It is said that the Yak-55 has
80% of the performance of a Sukhoi Su-26 at about a third of the cost.
The airplane first flew in 1981. The Russian Aerobatic team won the
world championship in 1984 flying the Yak-55.
