October 10-11, 2008- Trojans and Hoovers
Flight 5, To San Luis Obispo for Lunch
After
the morning flying, we were all feeling pretty hungry. It was decided
to fly down to the airport at San Luis Obispo for lunch, then fly back.
We had a flight of five for this flight. Michael "Viper" Maloco flew
lead with Mark "Magic" Matye, Dan "Dripper" Kirkland, Sherman Smoot,
and I rode in the back of Wayne "Kila" Watts' ship. On approach to San
Luis Obispo, the formation performed an overhead break and landed. It
is always fun to see the people poke their heads out of hangars and
come running over to see the T-28s as they taxi by. They always dreaw
quite a crowd. It was something to see seven total T-28s parked on the
ramp near the restaurant.
