The
twelfth annual Gathering of T-34 Mentors at the Palm Spring Air Museum
took place March 30-April 1, 2012. The skies were clear and windy for
most of the weekend, forcing the Saturday afternoon flights to be
cancelled because of high winds and wind-shear. Sunday started better
with the winds picking up in the afternoon again, but that didn't stop
the guys from doing an 8 ship formation for the museum before everyone
departed for home. Once again, the army of volunteers at the Palm
Springs Air Museum were fantastic hosts. Gene Ramirez and John Hill
were great facilitators for the event and took great care of us. Bob
Cannon of Cannon Aviation Insurance provided sponsorship for the event
again this year and we all thank him for that. A personal thanks goes
out to all of the above, and all of the pilots and crew that gave
everyone a safe and fun weekend of flying. I also want to mention Marc
Russell, Ron Alldredge, Larry Bierma and Todd McCutchan in the thanks
category for providing me a place to capture the photos from. You guys
were great!
