Trip to the Monterey Bay Aquarium and Cannery Row
Otters
The
Monterey Bay Aquarium is involved in rescuing sick and injured otters
to rehabilitate them and return them to the wild. For those that cannot
be rehabilitated, they nurse them back to health and find zoos and other
aquariums for them. Joy, the white faced otter in the photos below has
been at the aquarium for a number of years. The brown faced otter is a
12 week old pup that was recently rescued. He is being nurtured by Joy, who is
acting as his surrogate. They are playful and fun to watch.
